James is a highly practiced scientist in biomedical mass spectrometry and drug discovery/development with experience in academia (Department of Pharmacology, Medical University of SC), Large Pharmaceutical (Upjohn, Pharmacia, Pfizer), Contract Research Organizations (MPI Research) and business start-ups (PharmOptima LLC, Biopolymer Innovations LLC, Pharmocular, Inc.). He was a member of the Pharmacia World-Wide In-Licensing Team and participated in over 60 formal, extensive Intellectual Property evaluations, whereby gaining knowledge and a perspective that few scientists are fortunate to have experienced. James has a doctorate in Pharmacology from MSU.
James is a Spartan Innovations EIR and is primarily working on a medical device technology relating to monitoring early glaucoma risks and the effect of ocular drugs on inter-ocular pressure. He is also assisting FibrosIX, a SBIR funded startup, in the application of their anti-fibrotic therapeutics in relation to radiation induced pulmonary fibrosis.
