Michigan State University’s Broad College of Business is fostering the next generation of entrepreneurs through their Entrepreneurship Camp for high school students. The program, which helps participants develop innovative mindsets while staying authentic to their values, was created with a specific mission – to cultivate business leaders from underserved and underrepresented backgrounds. Program Manager Marquis Taylor highlights the importance of creating opportunities in entrepreneurship, noting that less than two percent of small business financing goes to Black and Hispanic entrepreneurs. Students like Nylah Dunham and Nate Pacania are learning valuable lessons about business development while exploring their own career aspirations in accounting and financial advisory.
