As the New Venture Associate, Gabriela works with Spartan Innovations and the MSU Foundation. With Spartan Innovations, she is responsible for providing administrative support to the Venture Creation Team. She also assists with the Fellows program and other various Venture Creation Team needs. Her role with the MSU Foundation is to manage the Technology Innovation Center, working with high-tech startup companies to expedite company growth and provide daily oversight and management to the business incubator space.
Prior to Spartan Innovations, Gabriela worked for the City of East Lansing and the Lansing Economic Area Partnership (LEAP) as support staff for the Technology Innovation Center, providing administrative and daily facility operations needs to startup companies and the business incubator. Most recently, she worked for LEAP in economic development, as the City of Lansing Project Manager. In this position, she interacted closely with the City of Lansing’s Mayor and City Council, presenting developers’ new projects and gaining support for various economic development tax incentives. She also managed grants for projects in the City of Lansing and lead an economic development action plan.
In Fall 2015, Gabriela joined Lansing 5:01 as Event Architect and Communications Committee, an initiative aimed at creating summer programming to illustrate the emerging quality of life aspects of greater Lansing to college interns and young professionals in the region. As a young professional in the Lansing area, she is very passionate about this program and looks forward to continued participation.
