Charlene provides the first point of contact for department research administrators working with for-profit sponsored activities. She provides guidance in facilitating internal documents associated with various proposals and awards for research, fee-for-service activity and other sponsored activities. Charlene works with units on budget review and approval for proposal completion. She also reviews and interprets language in awards and other legal documents prior to initiating account requests.
Charlene joined MSU Business Connect in 2011 as a Projects Accountant. Prior to her employment at MSU Business Connect, Charlene was the Deputy Treasurer of Meridian Township. She has over 25 years of experience in accounting, including both public and governmental, plus an extensive background in the banking industry. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Michigan State University, along with a medical/legal administration degree from Davenport University and two years of additional study in the medical field at Michigan State University.
