Julia joined MSU Technologies as an AgBio Technology Transfer Fellow in 2020 and transitioned to her current role as the AgBio Technology Manager in 2022. She works with researchers in agriculture, natural resources, and natural science to evaluate, protect, and commercialize technologies. She is a member of the Association of University Technology Managers (AUTM).
Julia received her Bachelor of Science in Plant Biology and Genomics & Molecular Genetics from MSU in 2014. She received her Ph.D. in Plant Biology in the School of Integrative Plant Science from Cornell University in 2020. Her research in the lab of Dr. Miguel Piñeros was supported by a Graduate Research Fellowship from the National Science Foundation and a School of Integrative Plant Science Schmittau-Novak grant. Julia started her technology transfer career as an intern at the Center for Technology Licensing at Cornell University focusing on technology evaluation, marketing, and commercialization.
