Michelle Oden is a seasoned administrative professional with two decades of experience, currently serving as the Front Desk Receptionist for MSUT within the Innovation Center at Michigan State University. She joined the team on May 20th, 2024, bringing a wealth of knowledge from her extensive background with her.
In her role at MSUT, Michelle is responsible for assisting all staff with scheduling and travel arrangements, overseeing office supplies and inventory, and updating office policies and procedures as needed. She reports directly to Janet Foreman and is an integral part of the MSUT team.
Prior to joining MSUT, Michelle spent over a decade at NM Travel Health in New Mexico, where she progressed from the front desk to office manager. There, she specialized in preparing travelers with vaccines, medications, and crucial information for international travel.
Michelle’s educational background is diverse and comprehensive. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Family Studies with a minor in psychology from the University of New Mexico, as well as associate’s degrees in human services and liberal arts from Central New Mexico Community College. Her credentials also include certificates in Health, Wellness, and Public Safety, and she is a certified Medical Assistant from Ross Medical Institute.
Originally from Albuquerque, New Mexico, Michelle now calls Michigan home, having moved here permanently four years ago. She currently resides in Bath with her partner, two daughters, and their two cats, Kiedis and Nola. Michelle enjoys exploring Michigan’s plentiful beachside towns, often with a metal detector in hand, searching for hidden treasures. Her personal interests include camping, food, country drives, history, old architecture, cemeteries, and anything spooky.
