Janet joined MSUT in 2017 as the Executive Staff Assistant and Office Manager. She assists the executive director and the associate director as well as oversees the functions of the MSUT office. Janet began her career at MSU in 2012 as an assistant to the Director of the Brody Neighborhood Center. For the past four years she was an Executive Secretary at the Eli Broad College of Business, Dean’s Office assisting the Associate Director of the MBA and MS Programs as well as the Associate Director of the Undergraduate Programs.
Aimee joined MSU Technologies in August 2018, to negotiate material transfer agreements (MTA), confidential disclosure agreements (CDA), and data use agreements (DUA) for the university. As an MTA/CDA coordinator, she assists numerous faculty members with protecting their intellectual property and transferring data and materials to/from other institutions to conduct research.
Brian Copple joined MSU Technologies as a Technology Manager in May 2017. Copple works with faculty and researchers in all disciplines across campus to identify, evaluate, protect and commercialize MSU’s copyrightable intellectual property.
In August of 2013, Angelia began her career at MSU Technologies as an IP Finance Assistant. She records, analyzes and maintains detailed financial records for MSU agreements concerning Intellectual Property under the supervision of the IP Finance Coordinator.
Reanee Unger joined MSU Technologies in July 2013, and serves as the Intellectual Property Administrator, specializing in patent portfolio management.
With more than 10 years of experience as a lead paralegal in the area of intellectual property, Unger shares her domestic and foreign patent prosecution expertise with MSU's tech transfer office. She received her professional experience working alongside some of MSU’s highly respected intellectual property lawyers, representing MSU before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
Jean has managed material transfer agreements (MTA) and confidential disclosure agreements (CDA) for MSU Technologies since October 2010. As the MTA/CDA coordinator, she reviews, negotiates, and processes these agreements per Michigan State University policy and communicates with campus departments to ensure compliance requirements are met.
Jean has worked in higher education for a number of years. Prior to coming to MSU, among other positions, she worked as an administrator for the joint venture Institute Teknologi Mara/MUCIA/Indiana University Program in Malaysia.
Ann has been the agreement and compliance coordinator at MSU Technologies since February 2008. She works with the technology managers to manage license agreements and monitors compliance with reporting and other requirements that might require follow-up with licensees. She oversees the MIIE grant program and the MSU Targeted Support Grants for Technology Development (TSGTD) funded through the Office of the Vice President for Research and Graduate Studies.
In 2012, Jen was named Intellectual Property (IP) Finance Coordinator at MSU Technologies. She oversees the finance tasks related to patenting and licensing MSU’s intellectual property, including accounts receivable and royalty distribution.
Jen first joined MSUT in 2007 to work on special projects. Over the years, her responsibilities evolved and expanded to include a leadership role in the record-cleaning activities in the finance area.
She holds a bachelor’s degree from Cornell University.
