A new partnership between Red Cedar Ventures—the wholly owned venture investment subsidiary of the Michigan State University Foundation—and the Center for Venture Capital, Private Equity and Entrepreneurial Finance (CVCPEEF) delivers venture funding experiences direct to the classroom.

The James Ian Gray Scholarship in Entrepreneurial Studies is given to one innovative student each year, based on their contributions to the entrepreneurship at MSU. The fund supports current MSU students studying entrepreneurship and experiencing the risks that accompany starting a company.

RecoveryPark Farms is a Detroit agriculture enterprise providing fresh, local specialty produce to quality area restaurants, using novel lighting technology to support sustainable year-round growing. This lighting technology is the product of an ongoing partnership with RecoveryPark Farms, Michigan State University and the Michigan Corporate Relations Network (MCRN), combining expertise from Lansing, Grand Rapids and Detroit.

What began as a meeting with MSU's Business-CONNECT to explore collaboration became a project with the Institute for Entrepreneurship & Innovation at MSU’s Broad College of Business and Lansing Economic Area Partnership to develop out-of-the-box ideas for the Mercedes Benz brand.
The Conquer Accelerator program at Michigan State University announces their inaugural cohort at the MSU Innovation Celebration held in the Huntington Club at Spartan Stadium. Twenty teams of finalists have been selected to compete in the fourth annual GreenLight Business Model Competition. With opportunities to win up to $50,000 in cash prizes, these finalists will present their business concepts in front of an expert panel and live audience at MSU’s Wharton Center for Performing Arts in East Lansing on Wednesday, March 30, 2016 from 4 to 8 p.m.
