The Communications Team oversees all communication and marketing from the MSU Innovation Center. They share news of work within the university that hits on the Center’s three main pillars: Corporate Engagement, Tech Transfer & Commercialization, and Startups & Entrepreneurship.
“The MSU Innovation Center staff is eager to help faculty and researchers advance their efforts on many fronts,” said Tracy Henion, communications director of the MSU Innovation Center. “I truly enjoy the opportunity to work with such passionate Spartans every day. Despite 2020 being an especially challenging year, we had a record number of new patent applications (186) and U.S. patents issued (62) and have forged partnerships with corporations across the state, country and world.”
Henion also oversees a team of communications interns for the MSU IC.
“I love working with students and helping them develop key skills in communications,” Henion said. “They’re all very talented and motivated to highlight success happening across our campus.”
The team is always working on new ways to grow and improve their craft. One way they do this is by taking advantage of professional development opportunities, including flying to Los Angeles in 2019 for the Adobe MAX Creative Conference.
