The MSUT Operations Team oversees the Intellectual Property portfolio of the Innovation Center. From managing the patents to executing license and option agreements to distributing royalties, this team has a hand in all things IP.
“Tech transfer has moved many inventions from the lab to the public,” said Jen Folger, IP finance coordinator. “I enjoy being part of that ecosystem, knowing that we help people.”
As the team works with innovators from across the university, collaboration is imperative to successfully manage the IP portfolio.
“The key to being successful at my job is knowing where to turn, who to contact, to provide the answers,” said Reanee Unger, intellectual property administrator. “Even when I do have the answers, it is always best suited to let the individual skilled in the art respond and/or make the call.”
The IP Portfolio includes both US and international patents and license and option agreements.
